The Folk Art Center is a Museum of Appalachian arts and crafts that is located on the Blue Ridge Parkway near Asheville NC. The Appalachian Regional Commission features many handmade crafts and is a popular attraction on the Parkway to stop. The Folk Art Center has 3 galleries, a library, an auditorium, a bookstore, and an information center that is open to the public and is also paid a visit by a quarter of a million people per year. They offer an exhibit of a changing collection of 3,500 hand crafted pieces that date back to the 20th century. The Asheville Folk Art Center also features an exhibit of traditional and contemporary southern Appalachian crafts. Come out and enjoy and learn about the beautiful exhibits.
